This article was written by Sarah Ellison and Elahe Izadi, both are writers for The Washington Post. They summarize and provide other insight on the 'Harper's Letter" on 'canceling'. The letter received a ton of unexpected backlash. It appeared to have unintentional negative opinions on the Black Lives Matter Movement and the Transgender community worked within it. Many people who are apart of and support those communities have really questioned the letter's meaning, as well as those who have signed it. Throughout the article, Ellison and Izadi insert comments from their interviews of numerous people on both sides. They speak to some of the very influential and intelligent signers who took part, as well as those that are asking them to take a real look and take accountability on what they signed their own names across. Some say that this letter just came out at the exact wrong time. It was released amid a spike in racial injustice throughout America. Also, women were fighting their continual battle against systematic harassment and discrimination. These are very, understandably and justly, sensitive topics right now. They bring grave concern and this letter seemed to state the complete opposite to some. Towards the end of the article, they state that most of the signers and authors of this letter just wish to move past this. The majority understand what they have done wrong and have taken some kind of accountability. "Is that really enough?"
